Successful Proposal Requirements

While your proposal will be unique, all successful proposals will share some characteristics. Please follow these guidelines to ensure your proposal is a good fit for WWCode events:

  • Meet Formatting Guidelines: Include an engaging title that clearly introduces your proposal topic. Proposal descriptions should be no longer than 75 words and should adhere to our Code of Conduct. Please do not include hyperlinks or bulleted/numbered lists.

  • Focus on Real-World Trends in Technology: Craft proposals that resonate with experienced technology professionals and leaders, providing insights into current tech trends. Demonstrate how your proposal supports the professional development and career acceleration of WWCode's audience.

  • Fit the WWCode Event CFP: Ensure your proposal aligns with the theme and goals of the conference to which you are applying to speak (visit the event page for more information).

  • Be Appropriate for the WWCode Audience: Consider if your talk will inspire, empower, or support a diverse audience in tech. Aim for relevance to professional women with at least two years of experience in tech careers (more advanced experience/topics are welcomed).

  • Be Original: Offer something new to the audience. With common topics, highlight your proposal's uniqueness. Clearly communicate what sets your talk apart and why attendees should choose it over others.

  • Demonstrate Learning Outcomes and Impact: Clearly explain what attendees will learn or be able to do after attending your session that they did not know or could not do before attending your talk or workshop. Show what problem or issue you are addressing or helping attendees solve in their tech careers (skills or professional development).

  • Show Preparedness: Submit coherent, well-formatted proposals, and demonstrate attention to detail by proofreading/editing with a level of professionalism that aligns with WWCode’s standards.

  • Have Depth: Avoid fluff and hyperbolic language. Provide substance and practical insights. Showcase your experience in the topic, emphasizing hands-on practice, real-world examples, or insights gained from experience, learning or reflection.

A Note About AI-Generated Proposals: We accept AI-generated proposals, but be aware that these should be thoroughly edited, checked for bias, and aligned with our proposal guidelines. Ensure the content maintains a professional tone and is suitable for the WWCode audience.
